Last December, blockchain infrastructure provider Nodesmith announced that it would be winding down its support for a number of blockchain networks. Today, we are proud to share that we are working closely with Nodesmith to ensure infrastructure continuity for The Open Application Network (OAN) via the BloqCloud platform.
During the transition, we will continue to administrate managed API services for The OAN on Nodesmith.io, absorbing these capabilities into the BloqCloud’s multi-chain API service (BloqCloud Connect) over time. In other words, The OAN’s native token, Aion, will join BloqCloud’s other supported networks, which include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Ethereum Classic.
As with previous such announcements, bringing on The OAN to our list of supported networks means so much more than merely adding capabilities, a logo, and network-support tonnage. For one thing, open source is part of Bloq’s own institutional source code. Further, we have been impressed by The OAN’s commitments to transparency and, in particular, how its leaders are dedicated to solving some of society’s biggest technological issues.
The OAN’s founder, Matt Spoke, said, “We are looking forward to the integration of The OAN into the BloqCloud platform and how this will advance the global open-source ecosystem. We believe this will simplify the development and proliferation of open apps, thereby creating a powerful infrastructure for all stakeholders across platforms.”
Current BloqCloud users will find that another powerful option is available to them. The OAN developer community will not only continue to have uninterrupted access to reliable infrastructure, but will expand the possibilities available to those developers through the unique multi-chain, multi-service architecture that the BloqCloud platform delivers.
Our stewardship of this infrastructure resource for The OAN serves as further validation of the exciting direction that we are headed, additionally supported by our recent announcements with the likes of ETC Labs and the Orchid Network.
